As a result we will see new and improved technologies through research and development that will change the way we perform every day tasks. Because of its diversity the field itself has many fundamental challenges ahead. Molecular Manufacturing as an example (chemical manufacturing with tiny machines) used to ‘gel’ molecules via chemical synthetics has very little background to date and to some is sci-fi fantasy. On the other hand most electronics and computer devices to date have some form of Nano engineering technology behind them.
